Sustained Performance

Actual or real performance achieved by a supercomputer system in running and application program.

  • Benchmarks: specific programs for comparing systems running the same application. Different benchmarks reflect different problems.

  • The Linpack or HPL benchmark is used to compare supercomputers.

  • Better indicator of true value than Peak Performance.

  • Highly sensitive to variations in the workload.
